“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.
In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

Lehigh Valley, International League North Division
**IronPigs (32-31) lost an 11-inning game to the Gwinnett Stripers, 5-4, at Coca-Cola Park. LV scored twice in the ninth to send the game into extra innings. Both teams scored in the 10th. The Stripers scored again in the 11th and the Pigs couldn’t match it . . . Columbus Clippers open a weekend series, 7:05 tonight, Tyler Viza (0-5).
Pitching: Pigs used six pitchers of which three were making their first LV appearances . . . Ramon Rosso made first AAA start and was impressive, 6-3-1-0-1-9; he was 3-2, 3.15 for 10 starts in AA ball . . . Newcomers Fernando Salas (1-1-0-0-0-3) and John Curtiss (1-2-2-2-1-1) followed . . . LP: Kyle Dohy (1-3), 1-1-1-0-1-1, wild pitch.
Hitting: 2B Ali Castillo, 2-5, run; tied game with a two-out, two-run single in B9 . . . Two-out single by CF Jan Hernandez tied the game in B10 . . . C Rob Brantly, 2-4, walk.

**Fightin Phils (36-27) edged the Erie Sea Wolves, 3-2, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Start of game was delayed 1:42 by rain . . . 7 o’clock tonight in Harrisburg against the Senators, JoJo Romero (0-3, 2-5 overall). Harrisburg (40-25) has clinched the Western Division first-half title . . . Reading trails Trenton by one game in the Eastern Division.
Pitching: Adonis Medina, Phillies #1 pitching prospect, won his fifth straight game (0.94 in those starts) to improve his record to 5-2, 7.1-3-2-2-1-5, hit batter; 44 sliders, 31 fast balls; most pitches in an inning, 13, T7; retired 11 in a row at one point; 10 ground ball outs; both runs came in T8; longest outing since 8.1 innings at Williamsport, June 27, 2016 . . . Garrett Cleavinger, .2-0-0-0-0-1 . . . SV: Addison Russ (8), 1-2-0-0-0-2; struck out the last hitter with runners on second and third . . . Casey Mize, #1 overall selection by Detroit a year ago, departed after 23 pitches with an apparent injury.

**Threshers (36-30) closed out the first half with a 3-2 loss to the St. Lucie Mets at Spectrum Field . . . Finished in second place, 5.5 games behind Dunedin . . . Three-day All-Star Game break starts today . . . Second half starts Monday night in Bradenton.
Pitching: LP—Ethan Evanko (3-2), 6-4-3-0-1-6; allowed a three-run homer with two out in the fifth inning; runs were unearned . . . Zach Warren, 2-2-0-0-1-2 . . . Grant Dyer, 1-0-0-0-0-3.
Hitting: Held to four singles by five St. Lucie pitchers . . . C Jack Conley, up from Lakewood, had one of the hits, a two-run single in the fourth.
All-Stars: RHR Grant Dyer, LHS Damon Jones, 3B Alec Bohm, SS Nick Maton and OFs Simón Muzziotti and Matt Vierling are on the North roster for the Florida State League All-Star Game on Saturday night in Jupiter’s Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

Hitting: DH Ben Pelletier doubled to start the T9; following a wild pitch, he scored on a sacrifice fly by 3B Jake Holmes, the second out. RF Yerwin Trejo singled and scored on 2B Jonathan Guzman’s triple off the centerfield wall. C Abrahan Gutierrez followed with a game-winning single . . . Pelletier, Trejo, Guzman, Gutierrez each had two hits.
