Andrew Bellatti was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Game 1. (Don Otto) The Phillies made a roster move prior to Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. Right-handed pitcher Andrew Bellatti was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Right-handed pitcher Yunior Marte was recalled to take his place for Game 2. Bellatti, 32, pitched an inning and two-thirds, allowing two home runs and two earned runs as part of a 10-8 loss to the Braves in Game 1. A breakout reliever for the Phillies in 2022, Bellatti has struggled to remain consistent in 2023. He has a 5.21 ERA in 27 games for the Phillies this season. Marte, 28, is back up with the Phillies after spending a month in the minors. He has a 5.14 ERA with the Phillies this season, but has been throwing the ball well recently for Lehigh Valley. In his last eight appearances at Triple A, Marte has allowed zero earned runs. The Phillies are starting Michael Lorenzen in Game 2 of the doubleheader. Former 20-game winner Kyle Wright comes off the injured list and makes his sixth start of the year for the Braves. Right-hander Jackson Stephens is expected to provide bulk relief behind Wright, who is stretched out to around 60-70 pitches.
