Trea Turner, Bryson Stott and the Phillies reportedly will play in London in 2024. (Cheryl Pursell) The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to head across the pond to face the New York Mets during the 2023 season, per a new report. According to Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer, "the Phillies are tentatively scheduled to travel to London next year for a two-game regular-season series against the Mets." It's an interesting development as Major League Baseball attempts to grow the sport's reach. The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will meet in the 2023 London Series on June 24 and June 25th, which will be played at London Stadium. Back in July of 2022, Phillies icon Chase Utley moved to London with his family to serve as MLB's ambassador to the United Kingdom. Presumably, the six-time All-Star -- who will appear on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time in 2024 -- will be front and center as the team he spent parts of 13 seasons with makes their first trip to London.
