LV slipped to three games behind first-place SWB. Pitching: LP: Enyel De Los Santos (2–1), 2–3–4–4–2–3, HR, wild pitch; 44 pitches, 28 strikes; shortest outing in two years . . . Drew Anderson (0–4), 4:05 this evening at SWB. Hitting: LV was held to seven singles, two each for C Deivy Grullon and RF Ali Castillo. Eleven of their last 12 hits have been singles . . . Nine runners left on base. ____________________________________________ Reading, Eastern League Eastern Division **Fightin Phils (28–21) were defeated by the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels, 9–4, in the opener of a four-game weekend series . . . Game time temperature, 77 degrees; wind, 7 miles per hour; starting time, 7:10; attendance, 7,707 . . . With the loss, Reading dropped to fourth place, 2.5 games out of first. Damon Jones (2–3), 6:30 tonight vs. Dunedin. Hitting: Threshers were held to four hits, including 3B Jack Scheiner’s 5th HR in the fifth inning that cut the margin to 2–1 . . .
