He'll spend the next 13 - at least according to his contract - playing for the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies. That means nine times every season, he'll play at Nationals Park as a visitor. After signing a $330 million contract to join the Phillies in early March, Harper returned to his old stomping grounds for the first time Tuesday evening. He wasn't cheered: https://twitter.com/JClarkNBCS/status/1113227601169063937 https://twitter.com/mikafrak/status/1113209357452349447 Prior to the Phillies-Nationals tilt Tuesday evening, the Nationals played a tribute video to Harper: https://twitter.com/BlairB3rry/status/1113224111042584576 https://twitter.com/JClarkNBCS/status/1113222825513500672 Harper, 26, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Nationals. In seven seasons in the nation's capital, Harper made six All-Star teams and won the 2015 National League MVP. Harper helped the Nationals to reach the playoffs four times in seven seasons, but the team never advanced past the NLDS during his tenure.
