The Phillies have traded Freddy Galvis to the San Diego Padres for pitcher Enyel De Los Santos, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Galvis is .245/.287/.372 lifetime over six seasons with the Phils. The 28-year-old shortstop was signed by the Phils out of his native Venezuela in 2006; last year, he played all 162 games, putting up a .255/.309/.382 line with 12 home runs and 61 runs batted in while playing outstanding defense. De Los Santos, who will be 22 on Christmas Day, put up a 3.78 ERA with 138 strikeouts and 48 walks over 150 innings last season for double-A San Antonio. He throws a high-90s fastball plus curveball and changeup. He projects as a mid- to back-end rotation piece who could be in the majors by the end of 2018.
