Ruben Amaro, Jr. responded to Jonathan Papelbon this morning on the WIP Morning Show, and besides saying an obvious "He doesn't know anything about the front office" comment, he mentioned "There's nothing in anyone's contract that if you request to be traded, you have to be traded." Angelo Cataldi from the Morning Show asked questions about trade talks, Cesar Hernandez, Chase Utley and retirement, and even more interestingly...Aaron Nola. Before letting Amaro go, Cataldi asked on the chances of Aaron Nola pitching during a Lehigh Valley trip 'a week from today', Ruben responded, "What is today's date?" and mentioned "I'm not sure, we'll see" and when asked if he had to go through a hierarchy to get an answer on that, he responded, "I get to make the call on this baby". Could this be a foresight into the appearance of one, Aaron Nola? Nola has started 12 games in Reading and 5 games in Lehigh Valley, with his last start landing on July 10th. Nola went 6.0 innings giving up 7 hits and 2 earned runs. Overall for the year he sports a 2.03 ERA and a 10-3 record in the Minors. Find the full interview here.
