Thirteen months after going under the knife to repair a torn labrum, the Phillies announced Wednesday that starter Jonathan Pettibone will require interval closure surgery to repair his shoulder. Pettibone had been on the road to recovery after his previous surgery, and had hoped to rejoin the team sometime in the next month, according to Fox Sports. The right-hander last pitched for the Phills on April 18 of last season, and allowed eight earned runs on nine hits in only four innings-pitched. In 20 career starts for the Phillies, Pettibone is 5-5 with a 4.54 ERA and a 1.527 WHIP.
