In unsurprising news, the Phillies announced on Sunday that they have released troubled outfielder Tyson Gillies. Gillies had developed a reputation of having behavioral issues, in recent years, as he's been suspended multiple times during his tenure with the Phillies organization. He's also missed significant time with varied injuries since he was part of the trio acquired for Cliff Lee from Seattle in 2009. Also, Gillies first made a name for himself when he was arrested on drug possession charges in 2010. The 25-year-old posted a .214/.270/.289 slash line in 43 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season. Image- Jay Floyd
