Sometimes you might find yourself in the unfortunate situation of not being in the Philadelphia area during Phillies game. The information below will help you track down your local Phillies bar wherever you might be. The bars range from hardcore Philly joints complete with authentic cheesesteaks to the local watering hole that is frequented by Phillies fans. If you have suggestions for a place we should include on the list, please send us an email or leave a comment below.

I don’t want to dump cold water on this very worthy project but I have to take issue with the two bars listed for DC.
I’m a Bucks County native who’s have lived in DC for 10 years. I’ve been to the Cap Lounge more than a few times and haven’t seen so much as a Phillies pennant on the walls. If that bar could be considered a baseball bar at all — its much more about soccer and football — it’s a place to gather before heading down to a Nats game.
Rhino Bar has a rep for being a big Iggles fan hangout it bills itself as a Red Sox hangout.
If I’m missing out one something, somebody please let me know. I’m sick of having bartenders switch the Phils off in the 7th inning because a bunch of Yankees fans came in to watch their game and outnumbered me.

So far the only place for phillies games I have found in dc is boundry stone on first and Rhode Island ….jersey guys and huge Eagles fans. Like the
Rhino but have a better time at boundry stone for Eagles games. But they play all the phils games as well.

I also live in DC and included those places because I have frequently run into Phillies fans there; however your assessment is spot on. Neither place has Phillies gear on the walls…yet. Part of this project is to get people to start congregating at those places more and cement their status as Phillies bars. If you have better suggestions for DC, please let me know. If not, pick a day and I’ll meet you there for a game and some beers and we’ll show them benefit of catering to Phillies fans.

I used to go to Rhino’s all the time as well when I lived down there. Definitely a red sox bar. Amazing sundays for eagles games though.

Living in New York, you see a huge variety of bars that taylored towards sports teams outside of the NY area. I have seen Florida Gator, Ohio State, Red Sox, Chicago, North Carolina, etc. Wogie’s is the only Philly place. Wogie’s does have great cheesestaeks, and was a good spot during the playoffs last year, but the West Village is not the easiest place to get to for many people in other areas. There must be another place in NYC that we can go to for Philly games.
On a side note, I use to live in Queens for a short period and would go to Mets bars in my Phillies hat and/or jersey and Mets fans would try to talk trash or whatever. I must say that their hygene was enough to go search for another place to watch the games, but I have yet to find anywhere close by.

Very worthwhile project!! I’ll snoop around Frederick, MD (near where I live), and see what I can find. It’s difficult with the O’s, Nats, Yanks, and Red Sox fans.

Philly:
– Byrne’s Tavern at Richmond & Westmoreland…and they have the best wings in the world
– General Grant’s on Grant Avenue just east of the Boulevard
– McGillin’s on Drury Street (off Juniper betw Sansom and Chestnut)
– Paddy Whack’s at Boulevard & Comly (and Steve’s Steaks is next door)
Just a few suggestions among the many great Philly stops.

Pat’s in Denver sucks. Public House is a better Philly bar, be it Phils or Eagles. Its on Blake between 19th and 20th, across from Coors Field.
Dan
April 28, 2014 at 2:47 pm
Really? I rather like Pat’s. Had all 4 major teams represented throughout the bar: Flyers, Phillies, Eagles, and Nittany Lions 😉
Mike B

Agreed. Haven’t been to Pat’s for baseball, but on Sundays it is wall-to-wall with Eagles fans. Cheesesteak isn’t great but watching the game it’s almost like being back home.

“How come there are no bars listed for the HOME town of Philadelphia????”
Because, Karla, every bar in the city plays Phillies games. Or, at least, you’d be (very) hard pressed to find a bar inside the city that supports another team outside of the Phils. In fact, I can’t remember ever being in a bar inside the city limits or Montgomery County where another team was on instead of the Phillies.

I forgot that that’s a no BS assesment from a guy whose been in Philadelphia bars for about 15 years now. But please, everyone, if you know of anywhere in southern UK (specifically Southampton), please let me know. I have mlb.tv, but it’s not the same as hanging out in the bar with my friends. Also, I walked by the Sports Cafe in London on Sunday, and they had the NBA playoffs on, which, while American, is still not baseball. Please help!!!
Brian Michael
April 28, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Chris, I was at Public House in Denver last week when the Phils were in town and we were the only ones in the bar. Although it was opened by the same people that run the Philly Public House, it’s definitely not a Philly bar like Pat’s. Why don’t you like it? We had a blast, check out the pictures.
Park, you need to go to Sports Cafe when there is baseball on, which usually means midnight London time. If you go on one-pound beer nights, you’ll find tons of American college kids, some of which are bound to be Phillies fans. You can also watch the Sunday and Wednesday ESPN games on Channel 4. The baseball show also has a section on the Channel 4 web site with a good message board and fantasy league. I’m sure you can find Phillies fans on there – I did when I lived there.

Where is Pat’s in Denver? I live in Colorado Springs and head up to LoDo about 10 times a year to watch the Rocks. I usually drop by Jackson’s All-American Grill before the game. It was nice how the Phillies swept the Rocks in that two game series, I just wish the Phils would come here later in the season when it is warmer.

I second the motion for some information on the Pittsburgh scene. I attended all three games at PNC Park last weekend and there were possibly more Phils fans than Buccos there. Where does everybody go to watch the televised games? I know that Peter’s Pub on Pitt’s campus is the place to watch Eagles games during the season, but I don’t know of any place to watch the Phils. Fox and Hound on McKnight Road has the MLB package and will put the game on if you ask, but the two times I went there (last season’s final regular season game and this year’s opener) me and my buddies were the only Phils fans there. Any more information would be greatly appreciated!
JK
September 23, 2023 at 11:52 am
The fans you are seeing at PNC are FROM PHILLY!! Philly fans travel better than any others and that goes for all sports. The Phillies bar is the one at the hotel they’re all staying at generally. Not a huge amount of Phillies fans in Pittsburgh itself other than students or transplants.
Julie
May 1, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I’ve been in Pittsburgh 3 years, and I’ve yet to find a “Phillies bar.” I’ve found that no one is really interested in baseball out here, so it’s refreshing to hear that yinz are interested.
If you want a decent sports bar, there’s Buffalo Blues in Shadyside, Silky’s in Bloomfield and Squirrel Hill, or Fannatics in Squirrel Hill. I’ll try to do some research to see if these places, or any others, have the MLB package.
Jordan
May 2, 2008 at 9:12 am
haha I’m by no means a yinzer, just a transplant from back east earning a degree at Pitt. And in defense of my friends who are Pirates fans, a lot of people do care about the Bucco’s, it’s just hard to root for a team that has had a losing record in 13 straight seasons and counting. If the front office would act like they actually cared about the team, you’d see a lot more support from the Pittsburgh community. I’d also like to see the Pirates moved to the N.L. east. Not only would all of those easy wins help the Phils, but there also once was a great PA rivalry going on. Regardless, the Pirates suck and the Phillies don’t, so lets go Phils! Julie, make sure you post the results of your research!

I manage a coffee shop in Lancaster, PA, we aren’t open at night, but we have every afternoon game on 4 flat screens. It’s obviously not a bar, but a great place to catch a day-time game.
Gold Cafe

May 2, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I wholly agree that the Pirates should be in NL East. I lived in shadyside from graduate school until i moved back here and oakland before that. i miss peters pub. when i lived in shadyside i would watch games at the shadyside saloon or even the harris grill (heard it burned down), but they werent philly-friendly there. i cant remember an official phillies bar. there are places where theyll put it on for you though. if the pirates ownership cared about winning they would make a TON of money off of that ballpark. its the best ballpark in the majors (even better than our own CBP) because it is right on the water and you can see the whole of downtown from the grandstands. ahhh, good times. in the meantime, ill enjoy our CBP.

May 5, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Don’t worry, I didn’t assume that any of you were yinzers. I was just seeing if you’d pick up on it. I’m a transplant also – originally from Philly but here for grad school at Pitt. Geoff, good news – Harris Grill is back, and free all you can eat bacon on Tuesday nights is back too! Jordan, I agree that it’s tough to be a Buccos fan…gotta love that ballpark though!
Ok, so I did some research and here’s what I found regarding who has the MLB extra innings package:
Buffalo Blues in Shadyside – NO
Fanattics in Squirell Hill – NO
Silky’s in Squirell Hill – NO
Peter’s Pub – NO
Damon’s at the Waterfront – NO
Dave and Busters at the Waterfront – YES
Buffalo Wild Wings at the Pointe at Robinson Town Center – YES
Seems like D&B and BWW will put on the games if you ask and if there are no other conflicts (Steelers, Pens, etc.). By no means are these Phillies bars, but this may be the best you’re going to get out here… Let me know if anyone else has ideas of where else to go!
Jordan
May 6, 2008 at 8:43 am
You have to love these Pitt kids showing support for the old red and white pinstripes. Kimmie, I told some people back home about your coffee shop. Sounds like a cool place, although they all said they’d rather drink a Lancaster Milk Stout while watching the Phils over a latte (nothing personal!). I grew up in Ephrata so I was pleased to see some hometown news! Clare, what year are you/what’s your major? Julie, good work on calling around, although the results weren’t fantastic. The only other option I can think of is my living room, since I decided at the beginning of the season that there was no way around getting the MLB extra innings package. 3609 Parkview might be the unofficial Phillies headquarters of south oakland. The two problems with extra innings is, it’s way more fun to watch a game at a bar with other Phils fans, and the away team announcers always SUCK!!!

May 7, 2008 at 8:51 am
If history has taught us anything, it’s that Eaton stinks and people with joke majors don’t get good jobs. I’m just messing around, but Eaton does stink. Clare, you won’t have to worry too much about missing the Phils assuming you go home for the summer. You’ll miss the first three weeks of the season, and the last month. Good news is all of the playoff of games are nationally televised so you won’t have to miss a single game of the “chase” to the pennant. Pitt’s an awesome school, you’ll love it here. I’m jealous of you actually, the year I graduate Pitt’s football team will be the best it’s been since I came here in 2004, and the basketball team is supposedly going to be #3 in the country, but they’ll still blow it once they get to the dance.

I will defend the Capitol Lounge, went their after the Phils Nats game and there was only a couple Phils fans but it was a very good time. The Phils fans we hung with where from DC and said the are their for every Phils game. Other then that, it was a very baseball friendly place, and was a very good time. Good staff who bust balls and make the place fun.
I would recommend for any Phils fan visiting the DC area to stop by this bar and wear your Phillies gear PROUD, its a good time.

Not that you should be in Manassas, Va. if you can help it (although it is about 30 mins. from D.C.), but I can vouch for Philly Tavern in Old Town. Small spot, but they always have the Philly teams on if possible, and they even offer Wiz and a pepper tray with their cheesesteaks.

FYI – Ventor’s was not open for the early game. We walked up to the next light and found a bar with a Phillies bartender. Great food. Unfortunately, we did not get the name of the bar.
Alexandra – we were thoroughly disappointed with the Capital Lounge. Plenty of TVs, but they allow the jukeboxes to play at maximum volume, so we didn’t get a word from the TV. Service was sub-par and the food was mediocre. We sat almost 20 minutes before being served and the waitress looked like she couldn’tbe bothered. Worst bar-pizza ever. That was after waiting 45 minutes because the burnt the first pizza. Someone spilled a full beer next to me. It was never cleaned up. Looked at a couple times, but never cleaned up. You’ve got some work to do. Seemed more like a pick-up bar than a sports bar. The pool table needs to go. People had to move their chairs whenever some drunk woman wanted to make a shot.

And I LIVE in DC currently (originally from NE Philly)…the Rhino bar is def an E A G L E S bar…but def NOT Phillies. Summers in courthouse claims to be a phillies bar…checkin that out soon. Havent tried cap lounge…but ESPN Zone downtown shows EVEYTHING…and Baileys in Ballston (in the mall) Has a billion TV’s…including the ‘green room’ for eagles games…it is enormous and I know you can see any phils game there as long as it isnt Saturday or Sunday during either college or pro football….every team has its own section there…which surrounds you by fans of the same team…but within earshot of the opponents…pretty cool in my opinion
hope this helped someone…GO BIRDS….GO PHILS….

I’ve been looking all over for a place in Austin TX. I’m up here in Philly for the games, but the OL wants to know where the Phaithfuls are there so she can be amongst friends. If anyone has friends down there, or knows of a place, post it and I’ll be looking. Thanks and LET’S GO PHILS!

I am a 5th year senior (like senior year so much i wanted to do it all over again) at GW in DC and all of my philly phan brethren have either returned home to philly or went away to get jobs last year.
That said, i’m looking for a friendly phillies bar to watch the game where I will probably be attending by myself. Is ventnor or capitol lounge the better option?

Have a few observations…agree with the gent who spoke about the Sports Cafe in London…it’s really the only place to catch any American sports in a soccer crazed country…they even put Carling Cup games between 3rd division clubs at the pubs there.
Second vendor71s request…I will be moving to Austin in the next 2 years…any ideas on where to catch the games and hang out with other Philthies?
Is MaGerks in Bmore the only option? I live 30 minutes north of there now, and was even considering driving up to Delaware just to watch the games…anywhere good around UD campus/Newark/Wilmington to get together with other Phans?

Jon – I’m in the same situation re: deciding where to watch in DC. I’ve been catching most of the games at my neighborhood bar, where I’ve been the only Phan.
Would love to hear where the rest of the DC phans are headed for the World Series!

K DC Phillies fans – Can we rally for people to get together Thursday at Vetnor Sports Cafe? Seems like they are more authentic – Scott (above) seems committed to making it the real deal instead of Alexandra where we need to “convince” her. Plus, he’s already promoting it with Yuengling’s on special.
Scott – you should put some special promo on your website for others googling “phillies bars DC” like I did.
Of course, if the Sox win tonight – Rhino is out of the question. Sucks for them 🙂 Although could be fun for more Phillies than Sox fans to show up and take it over. There are at least a few nights of games so we can switch it around…
Thursday, Vetnor Sports Cafe…Phils all the way!!!! I’m planning to get there right after work…

Anybody from the Rochester, NY area? I can’t seem to find any Phils bars out here. I did live in San Francisco for a while, and the Kezar Pub was an AWESOME place to watch Eagles games. With the Phils in it now I’m sure it’s rockin. But, as I’m now in Rochester, anyone with any ideas?

October 20, 2008 at 3:50 pm
I am going to Tampa for games 1 & 2, and may stay around for 6 & 7, if necessary. I’d like to find a place to watch the Phils home games in the area. I’m sure there must be some near Clearwater. Any suggestions??

October 20, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Im also going to be in Tampa for games 1 & 2, going down with no tickets, no hotel, but not worried about it because i will find my way in. Where is everyone going down there? Pre and Post game?

October 21, 2008 at 3:52 pm
NYC people –
Let’s start a thread. Wogie’s will be packed, what’s our alternative for Saturday night? Town Tavern? Shorty’s? I’m up for anywhere.
Jason
October 21, 2008 at 3:55 pm
I lived in San Francisco for 4 years and always felt “at home” at Kezar Pub. I don’t think it necessarily was a “pro-Phillies” bar…good luck finding one of those. But I found that anytime I went there during a Phillies or Eagles game, there were always a dozen or so fellow Philadelphia fans there.

Beth, I know’s it’s not in the city but if you’re willing to go across the river, Mulligan’s on 1st street in Hoboken is full of Phillies fans.

October 21, 2008 at 4:13 pm
I went to Cap Lounge in DC for the NLCS-clinching game and it was pretty good overall. The volume on the TV could’ve been louder.
For WS Game 1, I think I’ll try Buffalo Billiards (right next to Dupont south station). I went there for Game 3 of the NLCS. There’s a huge screen in the middle of the bar and there were plenty of Phillies fans (~15) vs. 1 asian Dodgers “fan” who was oh so happy for their asian pitchers.
Steve
October 21, 2008 at 4:38 pm
Beth-
I’m not a fan of Wogie’s, and you’re right, it’ll be packed. I called the Town Tavern. As of today, they’re not accepting reservations for the game on Saturday. I’m thinking of making reservations at Blondie’s (either west or east-side, I haven’t decided yet). We went for the combo Eagles/Phillies game (clincher vs the Brewers), and we really liked it. Plenty of space, other Philly fans around, and great wings.

October 22, 2008 at 9:20 am
Hey Steve – I’d be up for Blondie’s possibly. I’m on the UES so that’s pretty convenient. Town Tavern made me mad last year for an Eagles game – made me wait in line through half of the 1st quarter even though I was over an hour early for the game.

Alex-
I am still looking in Rochester as well. So far my best leads are the Distillery and Buffalo Wild Wings. I haven’t tried it for a game yet, but both show lots of sporting events in general. Unfortunately it seems that most people around here are Twins fans thanks to the minor league team, but if you want to try to get a group to one of those places let me know. I still don’t know too many people (let alone Phils fans) around here yet.

October 22, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Beth and Steve…another option for NYC bars to watch the Phils game is Phebes on 4th and Bowery….huge bar with a few TVs and likely won’t be all that crowded at the time. Town Tavern sucks, they are more an Eagles bar than Philly bar.
Steve
October 22, 2008 at 1:53 pm

We made reservations at Blondies, but at the UWS location. I’m on the UES too, but the other 4 people joining us live on the west side.

Is Phebes a Philly-centric bar, or just an ideal spot to watch a game?
Rob
October 22, 2008 at 2:14 pm

October 23, 2008 at 7:39 am
Steve, Phebes is just a big bar, sorta reminiscent of the Irish Pub on 20th and Chestnut….not Philly-centric, but good place to watch a game that should have the game on and not be too crowded until later.
Tony

My buddy and I will be in the DC area this weekend for the marathon, actually staying in Arlington. I see there is a Phillies bar listed in Arlington, Summers Restaurant. Do Phillies fans really go to this bar? Is it worth going to?
Brian Michael
October 23, 2008 at 9:52 am
Yes, there are always a few fans there at Summers. However, for last night’s game I heard a few fans congregated at Mister Days in Clarendon. If you’re in the DC are tonight though, I’d recommend Ventnor.
Nat
October 23, 2008 at 11:22 am

October 23, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Elizabeth and Jake….really the only true Philly bar is Wogies in the West Village but that place only holds about 100 and it will be jam-packed by right after work. I might creep out to Phebes tonight to watch the game as they have a good set-up, but am open to better ideas.
Elizabeth
October 23, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Brock and Jake-
I talked to the owner of Wogie’s (super nice guy). he said they were packed last night by 7 so you’d need to arrive by 6 to have a shot to get in. Plus it’s standing room only.
The overflow has been heading across the street to Fiddlesticks or The Treehouse. You can have Wogie’s cheesesteaks delivered to The Treehouse. I’ll either do that or Phebe’s because that’s right near my apt.

Yeah tough loss last night and we wont be able to win if we dont score any runs! Today’s another day though, anyone have plans for Sat in DC yet? Ventnor or Cap Lounge? What do you guys think the chances are that they will postpone the game?
Scott
October 24, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Hopefully you guys will come back to Ventnor on Saturday it was great having all the Philly people here the last couple of nights….A Saturday night game should be a blast! Thanks everybody!
Brock
October 24, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I don’t know…I think that if its really bad they will definitely postpone it prior to the start as its the WS and they have the off day on Tuesday. I am hopeful that the offense will get started back at home in familiar surroundings. But I also predicted we’d lose games 2 and 3 and win 4, 5 and 6….I hope I am wrong as I don’t think my heart can handle losing game 3.
Steve
October 25, 2008 at 5:57 pm
FYI – I spoke to some friends in the Philly area…. local weather forecasters believe that they’ll be able to get the game in as the rain’s supposed to stop before first pitch.
Also, it’s official. Me, my wife, and 4 other friends are watching the game at Blondie’s on the west side. Hope to see other Philly fans there.
Go Phils!!!

Regarding parking near Ventnor or Capitol Lounge, your best luck is checking out the residential parking nearby. Just drive in circles and you should find something (I’m probably driving myself). That said, I’ve even gotten spots on 18th Street on a Saturday night, so who knows?

Hey everyone! 1 more win is right!!! Can’t believe this! I am trying to get a group together in Northern VA to watch them (hopefully) close it out!
There is a place in Arlington, VA called Crystal City Sports Pub. I went there last Wed for Game 1 and there was a nice contigent of about 20 Phillie fans. They had the surround on for us and TONS of great tv’s. We took over the entire left side of the 3rd floor bar. Who’s in!?!?! It is PERFECT! Let’s triple the amount and do it again!
Here is the website and address:

Tony et al from Portland….
For Eagles games, check out the Eagles Nest Portland…it’s actually O’briens in Tigard..so a bit of a drive. But tons of good folks down there.
As far as Phillies go—I’ll be watching 25 years of frustration end tonight in the comfort of my own home. Nothing special, but a small group of people. But if any of you PDX folks are interested in getting together for the game, post a message here with your email and I’ll get in touch with you.
IT ENDS TONIGHT!

Half Moon in Phoenix? What a joke! I’ve been to much better sports bars. Went to this one for (the first part of) game 5 tonight based on finding it here. And it wasn’t too far out of my way after dropping someone off at airport. NO Phillies fans other than me, not much interest in game at all. Mostly MNF and just people from hotel next door there for dinner. They were out of draft beer – don’t ask me how that happens at a sports bar. Also out of the first bottled beer I ordered. Arrgghhh! Tomorrow night is either Padre Murphy’s or Fox & Hound (Arrowhead). Fox & Hound usually has a decent gathering of Eagles fans.

I just moved to Chicago a month ago and Mad River is absolutely the place to go. Every postseason game, expect to see 50-100+ Phillies fans packed in the place. Good food, good beers, televisions everywhere including a giant screen. Casey, the woman who runs a Chicago PHI Eagles Meetup Group, is always there– really nice, welcoming and fanatical. An awesome home away from home!
Tony
October 28, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Tony, I just moved to Portland a few months ago, too. The only suitable sports bar I’ve seen in downtown is City Sport (not to be confused with where I sold shoes in Philly for 2 weeks). It’s on SW 3rd I think. Also, Calamity Jaes in Gateway is alright. Otherwise, it blows for Phils games out here.

Wondering where people are watching the game tonight in New York. Besides Wogies (cause I can’t get there early enough), it looks like Phebes has been luring some phillies fans. I need to be surrounded by a sea of red for this…

Went to Ventnor in DC on Monday… they ran out of Lager before the pre-game show even started. I knew that would be a bad omen (I must have a Lager in hand during every game).
I’ll be staying home tonight with my case of Lager.

In NYC, Town tavern on West 3rd and 6th avenue is packed with Phillies fans. It gets crowded but it is pretty big inside and has 2 floors. On Monday night it had a really good crowd so I wouldn’t expect any different tonight.

We are trying to get a crowd together in Manassas/Gainesville VA AREA tonight for the game. The spot is looking like either American Tap room in gainesville or more likely GLORY DAYS on Rt 29 in Gainesville. If any Phillies fans are interested in joining, email me [email protected]. We have beend driving up to Philly for the games but I cannot do it tonight so we need more Phillies fans to watch the game with!!

Anyone in Las Vegas going out tonight? I was in Phila for game 4 and 5.5 innings of game 5 and watched with friends at, coincidentally, the Las Vegas Lounge on Chestnut St and had a blast. Have people been going to either of the Eagles bars (Jersey’s and Madison Ave) for Phils’ games?

For those in NYC, I went to Firefly on Spring St. on Monday and they had the game on 6 projection screens and had the sound on…the place had about 60 Philly fans…will probably go back cause of the sound and the fact that they had Yuengling on tap!

Anyone know of any Upstate NY Philly Bars? Phillies in the Newburgh-Poughkeepsie area. Tried going donw to NYC for game 5 but travelling that far is brutal especially if you want to indulge in a few Yuenglings.

NYC folks-
Phebes is closed for a private party. Wogies is going to be tough– I’ve been there for two games and heard that people showed up at 3pm on Monday to get seats at the bar. I just got a reservation for a table at Town Tavern. Firefly sounds cool too.

I live in Clarendon (Arlington) and can’t decide which bar to go to tonight…Ventnor sounds pretty solid but it’s kinda a pain to get to from Arlington. How many Phillies fans do you guess were at Ventnor on Monday before the rain out?? How many do we expect at Crystal City Sports Bar tonight? What about Bailey’s in Ballston Mall or Summer’s in Courthouse which is also on the list above…any ideas or thoughts will help me decide.

Phoenix update. The local Eagles fan club, Desert Eagels Nest, meets at the Upper Deck Sports Grill (www.uppderdecksportsgrill.com) in Scottsdale, which I assume would have been a good place to watch the WS. Fox & Hound was awful – they turned sound off about 30 seconds after game was over so they could put on music for the poker tourney starting. Had it on in another room but killed that too. And no one else even watching the game..

In 2007 while the Phils made their incredible NL East run I had the pleasure of watching the games in Rome. A great bar to check out in Rome for american sports is scholars lounge. Actually since it is near the Temple Rome campus there are a lot of Philadelphia fans in this bar year round. Call up ahead and the will reserve a tv for the game of your choice.

Terry, believe it or not I was also in the same bar in Rome when the Phillies were making there run through the playoffs. When they clinched the World Series I was in a flat in London (by myself goin nuts) kinda sucked but you do what you gotta do at least they had the balls to play it over there with all the soccer and rugby goin on haha. Throughout the playoffs though I was at the Sports Cafe in central London and they suprisingly had a good rep of the Phils, and you better believe I was reppin that #6 jersey all over the place. Was suprised to get a few congrats on the streets after they won.

If you just happen to be in Heidelberg, Germany, and aren’t in the military, see if you can get some G.I. to invite you onto General Patton Barracks, and visit Slap Shots Sports Bar. Most often called Jack’s Place by the patrons after the bar manager a South Jersey native. Cold German Bier, plenty of TV sets tuned into U.S. sporting events, a co-located internet cafe, pool tables, dart boards, and a slot room. The locals will tell you about the must do local sights. Plenty of Philly and Eagle fans patronize the establishment. Jack has made this a Philly establishment.

I moved to the DC area last summer, I am wondering if anybody has a regular spot in DC to go to see the games. I would go to Rhino during football season, there were a lot of birds fan but now I feel lost! My email is [email protected] (I am Italian born, but lived in Philly for almost a decade)
Next week I will go to see the home opener and on Saturday I am going up there to see them playing against the padres, BUT I need a less pricey alternative!

Nice project here. Just wanted everyone in colorado or that visits coors field, the Public House is out of business. Went down last weekend to watch the phils take 2 out of 3 from the Rockies and was all set to meet some fellow phils fans at the public house. Well there were “for lease” signs all over it, so no luck there.
Also it was kind of nice that I got to go to Harry the K’s last broadcast game. Rest in Peace Harry, your voice always brought me home, no matter where I have lived. We will miss you.

I don’t have a TV in my coffee shop (except in my office, but you’re not allowed back there), but I can tell you what’s happening with the Phillies because I always purchase DirecTV Extra Innings and watch every game. I also have two public computers so you can use Gameday to watch the games.

Recently watched the Phillies in Rome at the Scolars Lounge … the staff there were very accomodating, but we had to watch the game over the internet (MLB.TV) and feed was a bit jumpy; the action would frequently freeze and then jump to whatever was happening following the “time out.” Internet TV is still not optimal.

For the DC-area fans:
OK so Ventor’s really is a Phillies bar (evidenced by the flag they have alongside a Capitals flag outside), but are there any other “dedicated” Phillies bars? Too many establishments in this town have Red Sox paraphernalia on the walls (not overly surprising since they have one of the largest bandwagon fanbases in sports), and I’m looking for Phillies bars closer to downtown.
Any Phillies bars in Virginia?

OK – so this site suggests a couple of “philly” bars for the Boston and greater Boston area. However, I’ve got to say, when I go to the website’s of these establishments i hardly get the sense that they’re into anything but the Boston teams.
Coolidge Corner Clubhouse
Sports Depot
Champion’s Sports Bar & Restaurant
Therefore, I’m wondering if there are any other Phans up here in Massachusetts/New England that actually want to get together and watch some of the ‘offs this year. We dont’ have to go to any of those aforementioned bars. In fact, i live in Worcester, so if anyone has any other ideas for places to watch some of the games together, i’m down for that.
So what say you? Anyone want to get something started up here? feel free to shoot me an email if interested: mike dot dimaria at gmail.com

None in Seattle, huh?
Not surprising, they don’t even know how to be good Mariners fans out here.
But, for your consideration, you might want to add The Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ. No fancy big tv’s but the owners and much of the staff are HUGE Phillies fans, and make great ballgame-watching company. A good option for the more punk rock Phils fans out there.

Also live in Arlington, but watching at a friend’s tonight. Maybe trying out Ventor’s on Friday. I’ve been to Porter’s during the regular season and they always had the games on (some network I had never heard of before that didnt show commercials) but I might have been the only fan there. They used to have at least one Phils pennant hanging in the bar but last time I was there it was gone.

There isn’t a HUGE contingent of Phillies fans (is picking up mementum) but the one’s that do go are legit (Wednesday will be good). I’m specfically trying to make it a Phillies bar. I’ll be in Tampa at least for Games 1 and 2… have to head over there from South FL on Wednesday so I won’t be able to make it to the amazing Parrot Lounge in Ft. Lauderdale like i’d hoped. (Anyone who’s in S. FL, GO THERE)
Let me know if you find a place. I heard the Fox & the Hound is an Eagles joint, as well as the Tampadelphia Eagles Club bar, the DoubleTree Players Lounge. I just want to find some phellow phans to share the Phillies glory!!

Steph in NYC… Wogies is awesome (was there last WS for a few games) but fills up fast. Shorty’s in West Midtown is also fun but not a huge venue. Town Tavern in the West Village (an Eagles bar) is another decent option. Or we could just decide to go somewhere else. I would imagine the Red Sox bars (Hairy Monk, Riviera Cafe) won’t have Yankees fans 🙂

I have a Phillies/Eagles site for Pittsburgh that I never update because I am lazy.
If you are in PITTSBURGH AND LOOKING TO WATCH ANYTHING PHILADELPHIA, you have to go to Cupkas II on the Southside! They are one of only a handful of places in the city that cater to us. Eagles games get sound, same with Phillies and we get HD.

I’m wondering the same thing. I’m not quite up for heading all the way to Adams Morgan tonight, as I barely made it back to Virginia (only because of Metro incompetence). If there’s a place in downtown DC that has any reputation as a Phillies bar, then I will head there. Summer’s in Court House may be a viable option too. I will check back here in a few hours to see what the general idea is.

Any Phillies bars in Virginia Beach or has anyone been to AJ Gators in Norfolk? The one at the beach didn’t have many people last time I was there.

I’m in DC, HUGE Phillies fan…never have anyone to watch with, is Ventnor the deal…I was going to head back to Montco area but only have 1 Philly fan out that way, what are we talking here/how many Philly fans really show up to be at Ventnor’s tonight? Dang it, didn’t bring any gear with me to wear, lol…
Christine
November 4, 2009 at 4:41 pm
I’ll do DC anywhere but Ventnor sounds like the place to be for Philly fans. Otherwise, hanging in boring Montco, MD – can’t get over to VA tonight for the Phils…who is going to hang in DC?

Is anyone going to Capitol Lounge (DC) tonight?
Dave C
November 4, 2009 at 5:27 pm
I’m in Arlington and am looking for somewhere to go tonight. Champions Billiards in Arlington (Shirlington) has great HD and the owner is a stinking Yanks fan. I’ll be there watching, so if anyone wants to come down, please do. Relatively cheap drinks (for DC at least), and free parking. Email [email protected] if interested.
Dave C
November 4, 2009 at 5:33 pm
BTW, there will be a few Phils fans at Champions tonight (myself included). I am open to going somewhere else if a group is congregating somewhere else though.

November 4, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Ventnor was great for game 4. At the start of the game the entire place was packed with Phillies Phans. Besides one or two Yankees D-bags that showed up it was a great evening of Yuenglings. Sad that the Phillies lost.
Well back in Seattle for game 6… let’s keep the dream alive!

I’m probably going to Buckley’s in Belltwon (Seattle, WA) tonight for game 6. Go Phils!

November 4, 2009 at 6:03 pm
I know Champs well, we throw darts their on Thurs nites, can’t do it tonight, not in the area and don’t feel like hanging with the Yankee owner, lol…he’s cool though, my bf threw with him last week.
Dave – might have met you a few weeks ago at Champs – you have the Phillies hat on, parked in front of us in the lot…Saab w/Pa plate..????? Going to go to Ventnor, just closer to home at end of a late night…
Chris
November 4, 2009 at 6:13 pm
I with a small pack of Philly fans in DC, sounds like Ventnor is the place to be.
John from VA
November 4, 2009 at 6:19 pm
screw it, I will be going to Ventnor….leaving in 40 minutes or so to beat the crowd. Me = white 3 quarter-length red sleeve Phillies baseball t-shirt + Yuengling. Beveraging for the win!
Dave C
November 4, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Christine-
WOW, that’s totally random. Yes, we have met there before. I was there last Thursday and was talking to your bf and asked where you were (Game 2). I’m not sold on Champs, just convenient. Is Ventnor any good? If I don’t make it there, see ya for Game 7 at Champs!
Christine
November 4, 2009 at 6:32 pm
Dave – that’s too funny, totally random but I had a feeling! Fingers Crossed – game 7, then Champs tomorrow night. Unfortunately, probably Rockville area for me tonight, slight chance Ventor (I’ve never been) wish I figured this out sooner, sounds more and more people are going to Ventnor. I called and they said they get about 25-30 philly fans regularly for the series….
Christine
November 4, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Actually screw it – I’m going to Ventnor too – Me – short sleeve red Phillies shirt, long sleeve white shirt under, black/white/red Phillies hat on…

Does anyone know of any good bars to hit up in the Boston area? I will be going up in June for a couple days and taking in a Phils-Boston game. So i’m looking for a good spot to hit up. Any help appreciated.

There are no good sports bars in boston. I unfortunately live here and can’t wait to get out. Bars tend to show a very limited selection of games (pretty much local teams only) and are not agreeable to changing even 1 tv in the whole place. There are however plenty of places to get easily hammered on cheap beer. Clarkes, Sidebar, Biddy Earlys

In Austin TX, Phillies fans have Austin MLB. We gather Major League Baseball fans together in public places (e.g. sports bars) to watch games. In fact, we have our 4th Phillies meetup of 2010 scheduled for next weekend.

Mulligans in Hoboken is definitely the place to be in the North New Jersey/New York City area to relax and watch the game! Its hard enough to be a Philly Phan in this area but Mulligans has the feel of a home away from home.

hey chris – i am a philly girl who has been dying in boston the past ten years! as far as i can tell there are NO philly bars in boston, for any of the sports. think you’re going to have to suck it up and go out to watch the game with some of the most annoying fans in sports …
i do hope you get some more positive responses though – if you find anywhere let me know, i am going to the game friday night and could check out the bar on saturday!
Mike

are there any true Phillies bars in Chicago?
Jeremy
July 15, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Roc,
No there arent any TRUE Phillies bars in Chicago. I live literally a pitching wedge shot away from the Mad River bar. It does hang some Philadelphia flags but is primarily an Eagles bar. They show Sox/Cubs games regularly not Phils games. It only gets packed by Philly fans during major Philly events – Stanley Cup, World Series, or of course Eagles games.

In Jacksonville, Fl there is a place out by the beach called Philly’s Finest. They show all Philly sports games and make a damn good cheese steak (mainly b/c they ship in Amoroso rolls) Great place to catch a Phils game. I try to get there at least once a week.

Patsy’s in Alisio Viejo, CA (Orange County, CA)
the owners are from Philly. They do show NY games because of all the transplants and it can get pretty rowdy with Eagles and Giants fans mixing up the trash talk. But when Philly fans come, those games get preference. Fair warning: it’s like being in the 700 level at the Vet. Ah, memories!
The Shack in Santa Monica, CA (Los Angeles) The mecca for west coast Philly phans! Ok place but way to small, overpriced, and all the seats and most standing places are reserved before you get there. So if you haven’t been going there for the last 10 years you will NOT get a table, barstool or a beer in this lifetime.

I vote for Jake’s Steaks in San Francisco Marina district. Walking in, one is greated with Phillies t-shirts, hats, flags, and all the Phillies/Eagles memoribilia. The place serves the best cheesesteaks in the bay area, great selection of beers, and a good group of Phillies fans to go with. Was here during the recent Phillies vs. Giants game and agree with the other comment above that this is the best place for Phillies fans in San Francisco/Bay Area.

Agree with the comments above. Jake’s Steaks in San Francisco Marina district is the best place for Phillies fans in the Bay Area. Wall Mural, Phillies memorabilia, great group of fans every games, and free red jello shots with each run scored.

Philly Fans in Boston – I have been organizing a group that primarily watches games at An Tua Nua (835 Beacon St, Boston, MA) for the last 3 years. We have a facebook group called “Philadelphia Eagles Fans of Boston” Sign up for it to get emails about game-watches (occasionally we go to other places b/c of other events at ATN) ALL EAGLES GAMES will be there in the back room with sound and usually 100+ fans wearing green. (Phils, Flyers and Sixers watches there too) I’ll be the guy leading the fight song. Introduce yourself.

Atlanta’s location (Rocky Mountain Pizza Company) is incorrect on the map. It’s very close to the Georgia Tech campus at the intersection of Hemphill & McMillan.
I can’t vounch for the Phillyness of this place since I’ve never been inside.

The Philadelphia Tavern is not a Phillies or any other Philadelphia team sportsbar. I think they have 2 small mounted tv’s at best. I dont remember if there is any Philly sports memorabilia or not, if there is it’s very minimsl. We went there one night tomwatch the birds on MNF and the games wasnt even on the tv.

I live in Columbia,SC and I’ve been looking for a place to watch the games and Calloways in West Columbia has the MLB package and I go there to watch the games. Any fans in that area should come there and watch the games. They’ve got great food and good drink prices. It’s on US1 in west Columbia right off I-26.
