In September, we asked readers to answer the simple question, Why I Love the Phillies
. We received hundreds of submissions – all of which were genuine and inspirational. One
winner was selected at random to receive the
The Essential Games of the Philadelphia Phillies, a 4-DVD set replaying four of the greatest games in recent Phillies history. Then, each Friday we’ve been posting more fan stories.
Now we’re ready for more stories and are offering a 2013 Phillies calendar to one random storyteller. If you’d like a chance to win, please complete the form and tell us why you love the Phillies!

that is exactly why i love the phillies! i was 14 in 64 and remember it vividly. my dad and i along with my uncle and my two cousins used to sit in the kitchen at my uncles house and play hearts while listening to the phillies on the radio. ( if you remember there weren't a lot of games on the tv) and never from the west coast! so back then it was a real treat to stay up late with my dad and listen to the pitching duels with koufax and short. and when they were on at night (away games lol) the whole family was glued to the little black and white tv watching our phils. so yes i'm with you same era same heroes, and i also thought or hoped that they still had a chance almost to the end last year. GO PHILS
"it was a real treat to stay up late with my dad and listen to the pitching duels with koufax and short"
wrong.
The treat of it is opening this link and hitting the view game link in the upper right. A Phillie winner before under 9,000 announced witnesses at Chavez Ravine. Chris "Wasn't" Short versus Sanford Koufax.

I've been a phillie fan forever. My grandfather worked for PRR and we used to take the Phillies excursion train and walk from 30th st. station to 21 & Lehigh "Connie Mack Stadium". Johnny was my alltime favorite Phillie. I also remember seeing Joe Adcock (Millwaukee Braves) hit one over that 447' wall of center field.

Excellent web site you've got here.. It's difficult to find high-quality
writing like yours these days. I honestly appreciate people lik you!
Take care!!
of course like your web-site however you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts.
Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it
very troublesome to inform the truth however I'll surely come back again.
I think he means Wes Covington. Wes Chamberlain was much later and not as notable.
