Lehigh’s carriage may have turned back into a pumpkin but Scott Elarton attempts to continue his own Cinderella Story against the powerful Tigers. Elarton, who has not seen Major League action since throwing 15.1 IP in 2008 with the Indians, is still very much a very long shot to crack the club but has a tremendous opportunity to see extended time today to display his repertoire.
For the most part, this is your Phillies line-up headed into the season. With Chase Utley’s knee rehab “plateauing”, it is very likely Freddy Galvis is your 2012 Philadelphia Phillies Opening Day second baseman. Galvis has played excellent defense this Spring and is hitting .278/.310/.417. Roy Halladay was originally scheduled to start today but was bumped to tomorrow to align his off days with the rest of the staff. Halladay will throw tomorrow against the Baltimore Orioles.
